Penelope’s facial structure is perfect and they captured it as it had to be done, it looks very chic. Cannot wait for the contents, W‘s fashion issues usually stand out from the rest of the generic US publications.”
The necklace was a sticking point for a few other forum members as well. “That necklace is seriously ugly, it ruins that otherwise very classic and intense image, and it adds too much tackiness,” Psylocke explained.
MulletProof came to the necklace’s defense. “I absolutely love this – an ode to the early 90s. Just last night I was looking at pictures of that Versace era with all the jewels, golden pieces, natural makeup and voluminous hair, there’s something so oddly attractive about it, despite how opulent it is, and how unpopular opulence has been for years now. So glad there’s finally a September issue that’s worth buying and looks like a keeper, the kind of issue you revisit years later. This is the W I loved – great covers and hopefully equally good content.”
Fingers crossed that MulletProof is right. W may not be delivering a 900+ page issue (I’m looking at you Vogue), but the magazine is still an innovator when it comes to presenting its take on fashion’s latest looks, trends, and styles. Can’t wait to crack this issue open the second I pull it out of my mailbox.
