Members of theFashionSpot aren’t so certain the campaign is paying off. “This is really ugly in my opinion. Her leg, the shoes…” questioned GIVENCHYlover.
“What is this? Looks awful. She looks like a deformed monster. What’s with that pose, expression, angle? That’s gotta be the least flattering picture of her ever. The dress is not doing her any favors either. And finally, is this an ed for the dress, or for ballroom decorating?” wrote MyNameIs, clearly not an admirer of the ads.
He was also joined by Nepenthes who posted, “This looks extremely awkward, forced and pointless. Nothing makes sense. Jason Wu keeps on getting A-list models and yet he somehow manages to deliver one bad campaign after the other.”
Not everyone was sharing the same sentiments. Forum member miguelalmeida commented, “Guys, I think Jason Wu reads what we say about him, about his collections and his campaigns on tFS, because … he finally removed himself from the ads!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!! I have to say I love this shot! The composition, the restaurant and the angle are really cool and working great here! A very different approach, that distinguish[es] itself from the majority of boring campaigns shot in studios or the ones with fake backgrounds.”
