Gwyneth Paltrow Is Pretty in Pink on InStyle’s Fresh February Cover

Our forums were quick to voice their displeasure with Laura Brown’s debut covers as editor-in-chief of InStyle. Perhaps Brown just needed a little time to let her bold new direction take shape for the magazine. Newsstand regular Gwyneth Paltrow appears on InStyle‘s fresh and airy February issue, looking fantastic in Fendi, shot by photographer Greg Kadel.

A few of our forum members were quick to show the cover some love. “Gorgeous cover, finally something more in the vein that Ariel [Foxman] would have done! Paltrow, just might be the best celeb cover star!” rejoiced Miss Dalloway the moment the cover dropped.

“I really like it. So light and airy. That pink and blue should be tired, but it looks lovely here. And somehow, I don’t mind seeing Gwyneth,” MyNameIs admitted.

Sharing the same enthusiasm was dodencebt: “I left a comment last month that I give Laura three months to return to real backdrops and here we are already. Thankfully she quickly realized that solid color backdrops just look too fake, as clean and minimal as they sound in theory. I love this. Gwyneth is a favorite of mine and she always looks camera ready.”

Gazebo felt the same way, writing, “I want to dislike it, but I love it! The facial expression, styling, background and colors all work so well – it’s so lively!”

However, as you’d expect, the cover wasn’t to everyone’s taste. “She looks good but I want to see her in high fashion, she rocks that. Laura’s InStyle 2017: everybody’s favorite white actresses,” wrote ThatGuyPaul.

MON wasn’t afraid to let loose, exclaiming: “That layout is hideous! Cosmo already did this one, and they ditched it since it didn’t work for them. I wonder why on earth did they remove that chic font that they’re using. It was so classy and beautiful. It was one of a kind. I don’t know what they’re trying to prove, but it’s not working for me.”

You have to admit, the cover is definitely a step in the right direction (considering previous months). See more and add your own two cents here.
