Natasha Poly has landed many a Vogue cover over the years (53 to be exact!) to her impressive modeling portfolio and this month, she makes her 13th return to the cover of Vogue Russia. Following her 90s-inspired September 2015 cover, the blonde Russian native gets us ready for the summer months ahead in the bright and energetic image, captured on location in Dubai with photographer Txema Yeste for the June 2017 issue.
Not all of our forum members were feeling it though. “What is this?” asked a dumbfounded MagFan the minute the cover dropped. “Looks like a cheap supplement and why doesn’t she look like herself? Txema Yeste better run away as fast as possible when they next him to do commercial.”
“Looks like a cheap attempt to copy Vogue Paris,” stated Style Savvy.
“What a waste of Natasha! Beside the fact that’s her millionth Vogue Russia cover it looks like an ELLE editorial. I don’t like the lighting.. there’s no energy!” complained an extremely underwhelmed AlbertNoir.
Srdjan felt the same way, responding, “Totally! I bet there are better shots inside. This looks like something Greek ELLE or Vogue would do.”
Also not too thrilled was Benn98: “I don’t hate it, it’s vibrant and summery. Perfect for June. Someone should however tell Natasha Poly it’s OK to crack a smile every now and then, a cheerful smile would have done wonders for this image. She always looks so serious.”
“Looks like a vintage cover to me. Love the colors!” appreciated khyrk, unafraid to disagree with the majority.
