Halima Aden Is the First Hijab-Wearing Model to Grace Vogue’s Front Cover

Halima Aden is the hijab-wearing model taking the fashion industry by storm. During the Fall 2017 runway shows, Halima walked Max Mara, Alberta Feretti and Yeezy. She graced the cover of CR Fashion Book and shot a global editorial for Harper’s Bazaar. Now, Vogue Arabia, which made an impressive debut back in March, is the latest magazine to embrace Halima, giving her the honor of fronting two covers for June 2017, shot by Greg Kadel.

Our forum members were won over instantly. “I think it’s gorgeous, I’m so happy for her! I’m also really happy that this magazine isn’t afraid to put models of color on the cover back to back. It’s a beautiful thing,” credited TREVOFASHIONISTO at once.

“This is perfection, happy to see Halima on the cover, love it,” raved TeeVanity.

Vogue Arabia believes in beauty,” tigerrouge commented.

In agreement over how wonderful the covers turned out was Armani, writing, “SO beautiful, and well deserved. Vogue Arabia is doing it right!”

Zoom was quick to applaud the magazine too: “Happy to see Kadel shooting for Vogue and doing a beautiful job of it. Hopefully he will continue to transition to other international editions. Halima looks gorgeous!”

“MAJOR! Best Vogue cover in months. Halima looks stunning and the styling is ravishing,” wrote maxlinden.

Nepenthes described the covers as “stunning!” and we couldn’t agree more.
