American Vogue is known for recycling the same old cover stars, but the fashion bible seems to be expanding its horizons this year with a series of first-time cover subjects. Selena Gomez unexpectedly turned up for April, while last month’s surprise was actress Elle Fanning. And now, Vogue has just unveiled a glorious Zendaya cover for July 2017. Photographed by Mario Testino and styled by Tonne Goodman, the singer/actress and all-around cool girl wears Calvin Klein in the delightful cover image.

Our forum members were thrilled with the cover. “Beautiful, and such an unexpected cover choice. [Anna] Wintour is going really young this year, wow. I like it!” approved Miss Dalloway at once.
“Beautiful, Anna’s choice of cover girls are getting unexpected. I never thought Zendaya would ever get a Vogue cover,” wrote a pleasantly surprised MDNA.
“Finally, this cover is absolutely stunning,” sighed a delighted TeeVanity.
Kokobombon agreed, saying, “Beautiful cover! She’s in the new Spider-Man: Homecoming movie that’s coming out in July so probably that’s why she got the cover,” she pointed out.
“Amazing cover! Very 2008, very powerful in the face and of course a gorgeous girl!” declared forum member Lola701.
“Wow, what a surprise! Don’t care for her, but this cover works for me. The styling and simplicity harks back to their mid-2000s style. It’s a return to form, which I’ll gladly welcome. Plus, the second consecutive debut, good on Vogue!” Benn98 cheered.
“Very pretty, well done,” congratulated Nymphaea.
