Paris editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt may have her favorite cover stars, yet we hardly imagined seeing Gisele Bündchen appear two months in a row on the French fashion bible. After a striking June/July cover, everyone’s favorite Brazilian bombshell returns, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin. Gisele appears holding a baby kangaroo while wearing a faux fur coat on the August issue promoting animal-friendly alternatives to real fur in the fashion industry.

Unlike last month, our forum members weren’t here for Gisele’s latest. “The hell? Can this be Alt’s last cover since Gisele was on her first? Pretty please,” begged HeatherAnne the second the cover surfaced.
WilliamsLe010919 agreed, saying, “Two covers back to back? Too much, Alt! There are other models working too you know.”
“Funny to see this August issue being about fake furs and animals and ecologist fashion by Stella McCartney when the August issue last year featured Luna Bjil on the cover wearing the pink fox fur by Gucci,” pointed out apple.
Many forum members blamed the execution of the animal-friendly theme for the cover’s faults. “Animaux chics? Is this a joke? Seriously the fashion industry is so dumb and superficial,” said an unimpressed liaa.
“I can’t believe an editorial like that is printed in Vogue Paris. How can you take a picture with a cute animal when you’re wearing one?” questioned an enraged anlabe32.
“Fausse fourrure means fake fur. It’s all fake. But still, if you are trying to make a statement about animals and use a little kangaroo for a photoshoot,” replied Creative.
Magsaddict felt the same way. “On closer inspection, I’m a little disturbed by the casual way she’s clutching the baby kangaroo?! I hope for the animal’s sake it only had to be held like that for a few seconds and with little discomfort. So unnecessary to incorporate an animal as an accessory, am I missing something or does that completely contradict the whole faux fur thing?” he asked.
