Birgit Kos Serves Major ‘Femme Fatale’ Vibes on Vogue Russia’s August Cover

Dutch beauty Birgit Kos is fashion’s new obsession and she’s only been on the scene for two seasons. Currently the face of Chloé and Stella McCartney for fall, she also scored one of Vogue Germany‘s trio of covers earlier this month and now makes the cover of Vogue Russia solo for August 2017. Posing for photographer Olivier Zahm, Birgit wears a black Alexander McQueen dress in the great outdoors, which makes for a wonderful contrast, while giving us major femme fatale vibes with her killer stare and commanding presence.

Surprisingly, the cover generated mixed feedback on our forums. “Yes Birgit get those covers! I love her so much,” exclaimed an elated apple the moment the cover struck.

“Actually really like this, even the dress works here!” commented Miss Dalloway.

“Oh, I love this! Love her stark look against the bright, breezy background,” described gazebo.

The remaining majority were quick to dissect the cover. “Love Birgit and so happy she is getting cover but I don’t like the facial expression here and I’m sure they had better shots of her for the cover. She doesn’t really look like herself,” pointed out badgalcrush.

“I love Birgit but this cover is not so good in my opinion. I don’t get the femme fatale styling in combination with the background,” forum member anlabe32 chimed in.

“Too much airbrushing, bizarre. She’s a star though, no doubt,” reasoned HeatherAnne.

Marc10 also suggested some major Photoshopping had occurred, writing, “Her head looks freakishly small.”

“Happy for Birgit but I was not expecting this when opening the thread. The dress doesn’t suit the background. And the makeup looks a bit harsh on her which makes her quite unrecognizable. As if her natural beauty has been hidden behind it,” complained Valentine27.
