Cate Blanchett and Chris Hemsworth Couple Up on Vogue Australia’s November Cover

Like Kate Moss and British Vogue, Cate Blanchett is certainly no stranger to Vogue Australia. For November, the Aussie actress is back on the cover again, but this time, she’s not alone. Continuing its fondness for boy/girl covers (Bella Hadid posed with Jordan Barrett for September), Cate is joined by her Thor: Ragnarok co-star and fellow Aussie, Chris Hemsworth. Photographed by Will Davidson, the pair pose poolside with Christine Centenera at hand and her exquisite styling expertise.

Members of our forums simply weren’t here for the cover. “Meh, lifeless, no magic at all between them, it falls flat,” complained Nymphaea the second the cover came to light.

“Such forced connection between them in the photos, kinda shocking. And man Edwina [McCann] is obsessed with Cate, the cover shot is easily the worst, and Cate’s worst cover for them,” added an unamused Miss Dalloway.

“What a snore! I haven’t bought a single issue of VA all year, such a dull cover and dull cover lines to match. They really don’t put much effort into selling the content of the magazine, which is usually poor at best,” slammed magsaddict.

Also far from impressed was HeatherAnne. “This is the most pathetic. Let’s face it, fashion magazines can’t keep up with Instagram anymore,” she declared.

CommanderTMugler echoed the same sentiments: “I don’t mind the pairing given the Thor film and they’re both from Australia but they could have done some better styling. Give her some cool sleek sci-fi looks, especially if she has to wear Louis Vuitton.”

“Wow, the Hollywood Reporter looks good! Oh, wait. Is it a bad cover and editorial? Of course not. Is it worthy to be in Vogue? Of course not. Is Chris Hemsworth hot? Of course. Whatever happened to this magazine?” asked MON.

“Chris looks like he married her on a whim and regrets it every day. He’s trying but it’s just not working. Cate looks very happy, she’s in for a rude awakening when he finally leaves her,” laughed GivenchyHomme.
