The themed issues continue over at Vogue Italia. For September, there was ‘The Italian Issue,’ last month gave us ‘The Timeless Issue’ with Lauren Hutton, and now the November 2017 issue is dedicated to personalities. Raquel Zimmermann is Emanuele Farenti’s cover girl of choice (fresh from the sophisticated cover of Vogue Spain), lending her top model status to the fold-out cover. Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Raquel rides the elevator in both the cover images and throughout the entire cover story. Styled by Alex White, the Brazilian bombshell dons head-to-toe Fendi in the cover (below).

Despite forum-favorite Raquel scoring the cover, our forum members felt underwhelmed. “Happy for Raquel, but the cover is such a letdown. Sorry a big NO,” said MDNA the second the cover came to light.
“Her face and hair are gorgeous but the rest is just so amateurish. Happy for Raquel, I’m not happy with the result,” echoed Nymphaea.
“OMG I’m so disappointed, I was so excited when reading the title of the thread… what is that? I have no words,” stated an unimpressed mariemaud.
Also not feeling it was Vitamine W. “The elevator concept is a poorly chosen gimmick for this series. Elevators work absolutely terrible in pics. They ONLY work in film. This feels like a lazy day’s work, I’m sure they had fun but the result is just gravely disappointing,” he commented.
Les_Sucettes was in the same frame of mind: “I really wanted to like this, because well… Raquel, but no, it’s just super tacky!”
Although not everyone was disappointed. “All hail Raquel! Even with terrible styling and art direction, she can still look amazing!” championed dfl-001.
“What a waste of having Raquel on the cover. They need to bring back Meisel!” argued GreyVetiver, unwilling to let the cover slide.
