After 10 Years, Kate Moss Returns as the Face of Saint Laurent

Who remembers the spectacular Kate Moss campaign for Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring 2008 collection where she peered through the doors of the YSL museum in Paris? We sure do. Now, 10 years later, the legendary British supermodel is back fronting a campaign for the brand. The reunion is hardly a surprise, since Kate is the perfect embodiment of Vaccarello’s new rock ‘n’ roll, Parisian-chic Saint Laurent aesthetic. Photographed in the studio against a stark white backdrop with some heavy lighting, Kate is instantly recognizable in the black and white campaign images.

Unfortunately, the campaign failed to excite our forum members. “She’s not delivering it IMO, looks random and reminds me of Pamela Anderson in a way,” voiced forum member Nymphaea upon seeing the photos.

“Booooring… neeext,” snoozed KissMiss.

Also not into it was Benn98, writing, “It’s hardly novel, how many times have we seen this from her? I do still think it’s much better than Zoe [Kravitz] but not the campaign with Mica Arganaraz and Binx Walton!”

“It was just a matter of time to have Kate on a Saint Laurent campaign under Vaccarello,” stated a not-so-surprised GivenchyAddict.

Not everyone was disappointed, however. “She is an icon! I love her,” wrote a delighted Perickles.

Vogue28 felt the same way: “I like it, just because I feel like we haven’t seen Kate Moss on the scene for months (don’t bash me) and I think she’s perfect for a brand like Saint Laurent. The images aren’t exactly groundbreaking but these are perfect for what Anthony Vaccarello is trying to convey. A thumbs up from me!”
