As reported at the end of 2017, Allure is cutting back to 11 print issues per year and select issues will focus solely on the eyes, hair, skin and nails as special-themed editions throughout the year. As a result, Edie Campbell‘s cover for January focused on the eyes, Lupita Nyong’o gave us major hair envy last month and Adwoa Aboah shows us some skin on Allure‘s latest. Photographed by Daniel Jackson, the current face of Chanel Eyewear wears nothing but a pair of Yasmine Eslami briefs in the raw April 2018 cover photo.
Despite the magazine’s best efforts, our forum members won’t be rushing to the newsstand for this one. “Adwoa is no Mariah Carey, but how come like Mariah, she has the same face on each and every editorial she has. She looks the same always,” critiqued MON of Adwoa’s modeling abilities.
“Because we’re an the Era of Mica [Arganaraz] and Fernanda Ly and every other model that never looks any different in any editorial. Linda [Evangelista] they are not,” responded A.D.C.

“Sigh, I’m so fed up with this girl everywhere! She’s got about as much range as that beige backdrop,” slammed Benn98.
“I’m already tired of Adwoa, same face in every single editorial,” forum member zacatecas570 echoed.
In agreement and equally as underwhelmed was Zposen: “She actually has a gorgeous face with strong bone structure… her Allure cover should have taken advantage of that!”
“She has no allure at all!” commented HelaFav5.
GivenchyHomme misses the good old days of Allure: “I’m crying for what this magazine has become. It used to be so fun and lively. It had a great mix of fashion and beauty. The new EIC has really sucked all the joy out of it. I used to subscribe to this magazine and I really enjoyed reading it. I have a feeling that its days are numbered.”
