Alicia Vikander’s Marie Claire Cover Might Actually Be a Winner

Alicia Vikander never seems to catch a break when it comes to getting a half-decent shot on a fashion magazine cover. The likes of UK ELLE, Porter and US Vogue have given it their best shot (and were soundly panned in our forums) and now American Marie Claire makes an attempt for April 2018. The magazine commissioned photographer Thomas Whiteside and stylist Alison Edmond to profile the Tomb Raider star, who can be found posing in the soft and pretty newsstand cover image (below) wearing Louis Vuitton (for which she is the brand ambassador).

Per usual, Alicia’s cover generated a whole host of mixed feedback in our forums. “This girl is so cute yet so overrated. She’s literally everywhere and this is getting boring. Hope we won’t see her til 2019,” wrote forum member biagiolr at once.

“Ouch, she is so boring!” added narcyza.

“This girl just cannot live up to all the hype that surrounds her. At least not in print. As it is, she should never have gotten that role. She’s got about as much sex appeal as blanched spinach. I can’t imagine the Tomb Raider fanboys are very happy with the casting choice,” Benn98 chimed in.

Sharing the same feelings about Alicia overload was 333101. “It’s just far too much – she’s reaching Adwoa Aboah levels of annoyance for me which is actually a shame because this is one of the few decent covers she’s produced,” she admitted.

Not everyone was underwhelmed by the outcome. “It’s her best cover yet. All she needed was just a little more attitude in the eyes and it would have been a knockout,” confessed GivenchyHomme.

“I’m with you!” agreed vogue28. “This is definitely the best Alicia’s looked on a magazine cover in recent months. It’s just simple, effortless, straight to the point and no signs of bizarre post-production.”
