V Magazine #113 Summer 2018 : Dua Lipa & SZA by Inez & Vinoodh

Dua Lipa and SZA Star on V Magazine’s Summer Covers

The untimely Mario Testino cover of V Magazine is (thankfully) set to disappear from newsstands over the next week or so, making way for the publication’s next installment. From one singer to the next, V gives us what feels like every other issue of the magazine nowadays: ‘The Music Issue’ for #113 Summer 2018. Following in the footsteps of Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, Dua Lipa and SZA become V’s newest cover girls. The singers pose solo for their respective monochromatic covers, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin and styled by George Cortina, fashion’s ultimate dream team.

What could have possibly gone wrong? A whole lot, according to our far-from-impressed forum members. “They have obscured both of their faces and the interviewers sound awful, Katy Perry and Jada Pinkett Smith? Really? This should have looked incredible,” slated dodencebt.

“Isn’t every issue of V Magazine a music issue nowadays?” laughed forum member mikel.

“Terrible covers, don’t like either of them, but at least it’s fresh talent. SZA looked vaguely interesting in GQ recently, so with the right styling that crazy hair can actually be tamed. But it’s just too much here!” Benn98 added.

333101 agreed with the majority: “Dua is a beautiful girl but they’ve made her look terrible here, SZA has the better cover for sure. But seriously this magazine is so boring nowadays!”

“Can’t believe these were shot by I&V. They made these beautiful women look quite terrible,” shared Ed.

“I saw Dua Lipa and got excited but I didn’t expect this. How disappointing…” said Nomar.
