Moschino F/W 2018.19 : Kaia, Gigi & Vittoria by Steven Meisel

Kaia Gerber and Gigi Hadid in Moschino’s Fall 2018 Campaign Are Out of This World

While his Moschino collections tend to be hit or miss with fashion critics (and tFS forum members), there’s no doubt that Jeremy Scott’s advertising campaigns are always spectacular. Ever since Scott took the reins of the Italian fashion label back in 2014, he has brilliantly tapped photographer Steven Meisel to capture his vision. Every campaign is just as good as the last, with last season’s casting of Naomi Campbell (and peers) having gone down a total treat. Expanding on the theme of the Fall 2018 show, models Kaia Gerber, Gigi Hadid and Vittoria Ceretti (and no doubt a few others) are painted extraterrestrial shades of orange, yellow and aqua for the recently unveiled Fall 2018 campaign, with Meisel once again behind the lens and Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele on styling duties.

Surprisingly, the kitschy new campaign faced mixed reactions from our forum members. “My least favorite Moschino campaign by Meisel. This is so boring and uninspiring. I was expecting something a lot more creative considering the show/collection theme,” voiced guimon the moment the campaign dropped.

“Oh no, now let’s wait for Bella. Kaia’s shot is great because she actually looks like Jacky Kennedy, but Gigi?? ENOUGH OF THEM!” cried zacatecas570.

“So underwhelming after last seasons great campaign. Kaia looks amazing though. Meisel always brings out the best in her,” bluebanter added.

Everyone else loved it, however. “Jeremy’s designs will always scream basic… but his Moschino campaigns are supreme, every single damn time. Kaia as Andy [Warhol]’s Jackie paintings is rather all kinds of wonderful. With the Moschino logo in place, it’s pop art,” raved Phuel.

“Very often I feel Moschino’s campaigns succeed only in telling stories. I can’t actually picture real women wearing the looks, and not just the noveau riche. This time around that’s not the case. Perhaps their most accessible campaign in a while. The colors look amazing,” forum member Benn98 described.

“Ugh, Kaia is perfect for Moschino (in a good way),” approved ghostwriter10549.

“It’s not every day you see an Insta-smurf in a fashion campaign,” said GivenchyHomme.
