Taylor Swift Lands Vogue’s All-Important September Cover

The highly-anticipated September issue of American Vogue has been a topic of conversation on our forums for months with members guessing who would land the coveted cover. Everyone from Gigi Hadid to Jennifer Lopez was thrown into the mix, but much to our amazement, Taylor Swift got the gig. After a three-year hiatus, Taylor is back on the American fashion bible for September 2019 going before the lens of Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. In a nod to the iconic Uncle Sam posters from World War I, Taylor points at readers in the unconventional studio shot decked out in a Louis Vuitton Fall 2019 jumpsuit pulled by Tonne Goodman.

Our forum members weren’t pleased. “What on earth is that first cover with the ridiculous headline? To say I’m disappointed is an understatement,” declared Benn98 the moment the cover dropped.

“SO SO SO bad, it’s not even funny! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? The pose, the big head, the ugliest clothes, the headline… I mean Anna keeps going down year after year. What on earth were they thinking?” wondered Bertrando3.

“INDEFENSIBLE. This is terrible in all areas. And I really hate it when magazines use ‘September Issue’ taglines for the September issue. How dumb. Ugh, I can’t even. Terrible!” proclaimed MON.

“This is so atrocious! Why is nearly every magazine flopping so hard with their covers this September?” questioned a dumbfounded KINGofVERSAILLES.

Nepenthes wasn’t impressed, either. “Of all the people they could have had on the cover, it’s yet another Taylor story. Boring and out of touch beyond words.”

“Both covers are bland and boring. I thought Gigi Hadid was going to be the cover girl of this issue, but Swift wants more publicity about the things around her and the release of her new album,” agreed burbuja8910.

“I can’t believe the second cover, either (like one terrible cover wasn’t enough). That is quite possibly the least flattering angle of Taylor (who by the way is a very beautiful girl) they could find,” pointed out dodencebt.
