Russia managed to stay in our good graces throughout 2019 by consistently selecting fashion’s finest (Birgit Kos, Bella Hadid, Grace Elizabeth, Kendall Jenner, Imaan Hammam, Cara Taylor, Abbey Lee Kershaw) to front its covers. The mag closes out the year on another high note by giving its December issue to Irina Shayk and Stella Maxwell. The pair each score a solo cover for the occasion captured by photographer Zoey Grossman with Paul Cavaco on styling duties. Irina serves good face in her portrait shot wearing lacy Valentino (below), while Stella does a high kick in a showstopping Moncler number (after the jump).
One cover really stood out for our forum members. “Irina’s cover is stunning! A perfect balance of styling elements, text, composition and beauty. I feel sorry for not liking Stella’s cover because she’s been working really hard lately, shooting more than ever. But her cover just doesn’t work and feels unnecessary,” wrote Benn98.
“Stella’s cover is indeed unnecessary!” mikel chimed in.
“Irina’s cover is really wonderful. It just works for December,” declared dodencebt.

Sharing the same sentiment was vogue28: “Irina Shayk’s cover is clearly the standout of the two so utterly gorgeous and engaging. I just cannot understand for the life of me why someone decided to include Stella Maxwell in this!”
“Irina is clearly the only one needed here,” voiced SLFC.
“Fantastic cover from Irina! Such a natural beauty, only enhanced by other elements of the cover,” approved aracic.
“Irina has one of the most beautiful faces in the industry… I like Stella’s one, but if a magazine wants to make multiple covers, they should all be at the same level and clearly this isn’t the case,” commented jorgepalomo.
