Edward Enninful has championed a whole host of faces throughout his tenure at British Vogue (everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Madonna to Kaia Gerber to Naomi Campbell). Now he gives Irina Shayk his seal of approval with the unveiling of the title’s March 2020 cover. The Russian beauty has been on top of her game lately, having just appeared on the cover of her native Vogue Russia, fronted Vogue Japan last month and is the current face of Max Mara. Captured by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott with Enninful on styling duties, the model wears a pink Prada number in the ethereal cover shot for the mag’s big spring fashion edition.
The cover quickly divided our forums. “Ooh, love this! Gorgeous soft spring palette and Irina looks radiant and fresh,” appreciated aracic.
“It’s actually a beautiful cover! Very saccharine yet still fashion-forward. Will definitely get this for the cover alone,” said Benn98.
“It’s fresh, it’s clean and it has a real fashion model on its cover,” noted crmsnsnwflks.

But not everyone was thrilled. “Wax figures at Madame Tussauds look more alive than this. They really did Irina dirty here. I do like the backdrop and the pink Prada looks fantastic. I just think it’s an incredibly unflattering shot of Irina,” called out KINGofVERSAILLES.
“She looks kind of creepy here. And not in an interesting way,” disapproved tipi1355.
“The more I look at it, the less it works for me. There’s something in Irina’s eyes that is so sleepy, the shot looks very empty with pink on pink and the masthead seems strange,” proclaimed apple.
“At first glance I really liked it, but then I looked at Irina’s face for more than a second and started to notice the sleepiness of it all. The hair is really hideous as well, I just don’t get it,” voiced dodencebt.
