Vogue Australia November 2021 : Sarah Snook by Simon Eeles

Sarah Snook Definitely Deserves Better Than Vogue Australia’s November 2021 Cover

You simply have to admire Vogue Australia’s willingness to support homegrown talent. Over the last two years alone, Edwina McCann has given the cover to Magnolia Maymuru, Erica Packer, Gemma Ward, Sia, Adut Akech and Cate Blanchett. Now Sarah Snook is added to the list as the Aussie actress and star of Succession graces the Australian fashion bible’s November 2021 edition. In the vibrant cover image, Sarah sports a Christian Dior Fall 2021 creation (selected by Kaila Matthews) basking in the sun before the lens of photographer Simon Eeles.

In the eyes of our forum members, however, Sarah deserved better. “Could’ve been good, but the lighting…” declared KINGofVERSAILLES.

“This is simply not it. The background looks fake and the angle doesn’t favor her,” stated Ken Doll Jenner.

“Wow! That cover image is terrible. Putting someone in that harsh, direct light is criminal,” dfl-001 pointed out.

“Anyone remember when was the last time Vogue Australia had a good cover?” asked DK92.

“No one because there hasn’t been one in ages,” replied WAVES. “The cover is terrible… Town & Country did it better.”

Bertrando3 also wasn’t jumping for joy: “It’s laughable, really!”

“I embrace the fact that a magazine chooses to portray a local celebrity like in this case, but I don’t like the fact that they made her look like a secondhand Renée Zellweger,” disapproved FashionMuseDior.

“Those vibrant colors will allow the cover to sing on the newsstand and I quite like the use of the natural light, but there’s something very amateurish, low budget and unworthy of Vogue about the finished product,” added vogue28.
