Louis Vuitton 'Twist' Handbags S/S 2022 : HoYeon Jung by Ethan James Green

Not Even HoYeon Jung Can Save Louis Vuitton’s Latest Handbag Campaign

You’re probably well aware that Nicolas Ghesquière likes having brand ambassadors for Louis Vuitton. See Léa Seydoux, Emma Stone and Alicia Vikander. The French fashion house’s latest signing is HoYeon Jung. After appearing in the brand’s Spring 2022 ads, the actress and model now goes solo in Vuitton’s 2022 Twist handbag campaign. Captured by Ethan James Green with styling from Marie-Amelie Sauvé, the South Korean beauty poses against a clean studio backdrop to highlight the label’s signature bag in an array of finishes and colors.

In the eyes of our forum members, however, the ads flopped. “The styling is atrocious,” critiqued WAVES.

“Quite surprised this was photographed by Ethan James Green! I’ve become a massive fan of his, especially when he’s in full Meisel mode, but this is far too flat and lackluster for me to fawn over. The styling (or complete lack thereof) is terrible…” proclaimed vogue28.

“Hot damn, it looks like some Shein interpretation of Hedi Slimane’s Celine campaigns, especially the one with Kaia Gerber,” Frederic01 pointed out.

“I know it’s a handbag campaign, but I hate the styling. Still, HoYeon Jung looks breathtaking,” reasoned guimon.

“She is so stunning I didn’t even notice how ugly the clothes and bags were for a minute,” commented Serend1pity.

Urban Stylin was in the same frame of mind: “She looks amazing, but the clothes and accessories look cheap as hell.”

Meanwhile, balmain1914 described the outcome as “trash,” but do you agree?
