Steven Meisel’s Joyous & Playful Chanel Chance Fragrance Campaign Feels “Like a Breath of Fresh Air” for 2024

Chanel is commencing the new year by ushering in a vibrant, youthful and unapologetically joyful advertising campaign for its line of Chance fragrances. Back in 2015, the fabled French fashion house’s previous Chance campaign invited us into a fantasy-filled bowling alley (as imagined by famed French creative Jean-Paul Goude). We witnessed a jubilant dance audition via the lens of Goude also for the 2019 installment and make no mistake we’re back amongst the fun for 2024.

This time, however, Chanel opted to commission the renowned French film director Jean-Pierre Jeunet for the dazzling funfair-inspired commercial, in addition to hiring Steven Meisel to capture the accompanying print campaign. Amiah Miller, Zuza Bryk, Mathilda Gvarliani and Maty Fall embody the four Chanel Chance fragrances for the occasion, each sat perched atop giant oversized bottles of the scent and dressed in looks evoking the spirit of the brand during the 90s.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Looks like Anna Sui by Meisel,” voiced Scotty.

Avonlea002 agreed, echoing: “Yikes, indeed very Anna Sui. The retouching is absurd. Their legs looks like sausages.”

Yet not everyone was left so underwhelmed. “Love the print campaign, it is fun and fashionable. Great, fresh casting too,” approved MModa.

“Steven Meisel’s print campaign imagery feels like a total breath of fresh air! I love how fresh, vibrant, youthful and playful the images themselves are. Also adore the styling with those 90s-inspired cropped jackets and how each look complements the Chance bottle – very nicely done. Maty Fall’s smile here is a delight,” raved forum member vogue28.

“Fun campaign,” admired couturefan.
