Beyoncé Tries on a New Look (and Fails Miserably) as CR Fashion Book’s Spring 2024 Cover Star

Last Wednesday, CR Fashion Book attempted to set the internet ablaze with the teaser for Issue #24. True to speculation on theFashionspot forums, CR‘s latest cover star is in fact Beyoncé, welcomed back for a second time. Almost one whole decade after her last, the acclaimed American singer-songwriter and businesswoman poses for photographic duo Louise & Maria Thornfeldt. Across four unique and dynamic cover images, Beyoncé tires on a various new looks, as she ports different hairstyles throughout and is dressed by CR‘s Carine Roitfeld in an array of pieces from Maison Margiela, Valentino, Luis De Javier and Calvin Klein.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“TRAGIC! But to be honest, nothing related to fashion that involves her excites me,” voiced DK92 the moment the covers struck.

Vogue28 replied: “Tragic indeed, and to think Carine Roitfeld (to woman who gave us countless stellar fashion stories and covers as EIC of Vogue Paris) is attached to this is making matters even worse. CR Fashion Book lost its spark a long time ago but these are just such a non-event that I am genuinely sat here dumbfounded.”

“I love Beyoncé very much but her magazine portfolio hardly impresses me,” thiago chimed in.

“She never convinces me in anything fashion related,” commented mepps.

Alquimista pointed out: “They’re still trying to sell this woman as a style icon. Beyoncé never had style!”

Kimy Jo described the end result as “horrible” but do you share the same view?
