Vogue Hong Kong doesn’t exactly take our fancy each and every month, here at theFashionSpot. Following the magazine’s debut back in 2019, the last time the title truly took our fancy was in September 2023 when editorial director Kat Yeung served up a model extravaganza. Six months later, Yeung welcomes models-of-the-moment Lulu Tenney, Felice Nova Noordhoff and América González as cover girls. The beauties take a road trip across Marseille in southern France throughout the sun-drenched April 2024 cover shoot. Photographer Felix Cooper documents the fun, with stylist Dena Giannini coming along for the ride. Across a duo of atmospheric covers, Giannini dresses the girls in looks from Nicolas Ghesquière’s Spring 2024 Louis Vuitton collection.

“They all look anemic. A shoot on location and the result is unimpressive, and don’t get me started on that styling,” critiqued WAVES straight away.
“Harks back to the irrelevant editions of Vogue from mid-2010s. Horrible images, especially that second cover,” cried out a disapproving aracic.
Also majorly dissatisfied was forum member oaklee91, commenting: “I don’t find any of the covers exciting. They look like they’re going to the mall!”
“When you have three models who all have outstanding bodies of work and the result is this, it’s all down to Felix Cooper. Hard pass,” voiced zoom.
Vogue28 shared the same sentiments: “This feels incredibly dated, rushed and is a visual headache as opposed to feeling youthful, fun and like a breath of fresh air. Dena Giannini’s styling is abysmal and Felix Cooper’s photographer ain’t much better.”
