Forum Members React to Vanity Fair’s July/August 2024 Cover, Featuring a Stock Image of Catherine, Princess of Wales

The British royals splashed across the cover of Vanity Fair is common practice. Throughout time, the Condé Nast title has profiled the likes of Princess Anne, the late Princess Diana and the late Queen Elizabeth II (to name a select few) and loves themselves a good Catherine, Princess of Wales cover. Vanity Fair‘s current editor-in-chief Radhika Jones is profiling the much-loved member of the British royal family, with the unveiling of the magazine’s double July/August edition to see us through the summer season. To commemorate the occasion, Jones opted to use a stock image for the cover, selecting a shot captured by Getty Images’ royal photographer Chris Jackson of the Princess of Wales attending the annual Commonwealth Service in March 2023.

“Hello, Hello! magazine,” laughed A.D.C the moment the cover came to light.

“What is this cheap Tatler sh*t?” exclaimed an unimpressed Kite. “When i read the thread title I was SHOCKED that they’d got an amazing ‘world exclusive’ interview or something. Nope… just trash!”

“Well, royalty sells and EVERYBODY here knows that. Maybe Vanity Fair just need more money with the start of the summer season,” matheus_s chimed in.

Blueorchid shared: “Why would a stock photo of a royal on a summer issue of Vanity Fair shock anyone, it’s pretty standard Vanity Fair stuff.”

“It is a good stock photo of Catherine, Princess of Wales. Obviously, Vanity Fair could not get a new photo shoot for the cover story so I think they did their best. The cover looks appealing. I like the rich color palette of black, navy, and gold,” reasoned forum member MModa.

“Honestly, it’s not the worst cover made from a paparazzo shot. I like the layout, it looks classy,” added Srdjan.
