Jenna Ortega Appears ‘Dazed and Confused’ on the September 2024 Cover of Vanity Fair

Radhika Jones has mastered the art of welcoming a mix of both the expected and the unexpected, when it comes to enlisting subjects for the front cover of Vanity Fair. Familiar faces like Natalie Portman and Anne Hathaway have graced the magazine throughout 2024 whilst the likes of Simone Biles and Ayo Edebiri have cropped up unexpectedly. Jenna Ortega makes for Vanity Fair‘s surprise September cover star for 2024, currently on a promotional tour ahead of the release of Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Photographer Tom Craig was called upon to capture the American actress, with stylist Nathan Klein opting for a red number from Christian Dior for Ortega to showcase in the cover image.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Tedious! She looks like Chilindrina from El Chavo,” said DK92 upon first look.

“Boring subject, boring styling, boring photography,” A.D.C stated.

“Bad lighting and angle,” noted MDNA.

Also not exactly jumping for joy over the end result was MModa. “The result is too pedestrian for my liking,” they shared inside the thread.

“I don’t like the cover at all, so lifeless and bland,” complained Ivanity86.

“That is such a strange choice of image for a cover. Ill-fitting dress, indifferent hair, and almost out of focus,” chimed in a disenchanted Drusilla.

Vogue28 wasn’t best impressed either. “Jenna Ortega always looks so dazed and confused, and this is no exception. Not a fan of the photography from Tom Craig here,” he shared.
