Ryan Serhant
Executive Vice President at Nest Seekers International and star of Bravo's Million Dollar Listing New York
"My walk-in closet is split in two: work Ryan and regular Ryan. On the work side, suits are hung by brand, shirts by color, and since I pick my suit out first, I have those at the top and then I work my way down. On the regular side, I have the same top-down flow: shirts on top, pants, boxers, below. The best closets don’t just store your stuff, they organize them to allow you to get dressed in a quicker, easier fashion. I have very little time – I want my closet to suggest what I need to wear for me."

"My husband and I chose to turn our second bedroom into our closet. We gave up having visitors or friends so that our clothes, shoes, jackets, bags and cat's litterbox could have a nice place to live. I've never looked at photos of my closet until today. This was a very interesting assignment. Fact: I apparently buy a lot of print and color although I'm 99% positive that I'm always dressed in black. Fact: I never met a scarf that I didn't like. Fact: You can't see our massive shared outerwear, sweater, shoe and cardigan collection in this shot...it's truly pornographic and lush."

Founder of PinkClouds
"My closet is overflowing yet neurotically organized and extremely loved. It really reflects the way I approach life and my own style. I like being busy and wearing loud statement pieces, but at the same time I like having a schedule and a balanced look. I always say my look is 40% vintage, 60% modern pieces and that is really reflected in my closet!"

Cristina Civetta
Events Coordinator at Electric Room
"A lot of my clothes were custom made for me in Italy. I also have a lot of stuff from improvd's clothing line and Ports 1961 because I worked on campaign shoots with both brands. My shoes are mostly YSL and Mechante of London."

Francesca Bonaiuto
Operations manager at Carolinna Espinosa
“To me, clothes are just clothes, but shoes and accessories are the key to every outfit because they are the pieces that make you unique and add flair to your personality. I think your shoes really make you step out from the ordinary. I simply love shoes and that is why I’ve devoted nearly a decade to a career in the shoe world. I am never done collecting shoes and I now have a new brand to add to my never ending shoe collection, Carolinna Espinosa!”

Founder of Anastasia Beverly Hills
"Take whatever you want to take from me...just don’t touch my shoes. No matter what I’m doing, I need the most fabulous shoes I can find that day. Stilettos, platforms or boots—it doesn’t really matter. Shoes are THE accessory to instantly change up your wardrobe and can bring a simple outfit into perfect focus, or to take an already interesting ensemble to another level. For me, refined style is all about the accessories! My closet has pants from Topshop right along with my YSL tuxedo trousers and they both look like a million bucks when I put the right shoes on."

Joanna Schlip
Celebrity makeup artist for Physicians Formula
"My style is very polarized – heads or tails. I’m either sporty and edgy or feminine and girly. There is no middle ground for me. For the longest time I kept to the neutrals – black, grey, navy, but now I’m embracing color. As a makeup artist, I’m constantly playing with texture to create the perfect look — matte lips, dewy complexion, etc. Similarly, I’m drawn to textures in my wardrobe, whether it’s cashmere, cotton or leather; it has to have a certain feel. I also look for silhouette and cut. I think about how I want to feel and dress to meet that mood.”

Field marketing director and a BECCA national makeup artist
“My closet is a marriage of modern and designer vintage. It's a bit reminiscent of an era where the pace was a bit slower and women dressed up to travel. I love classic vintage silhouettes paired with modern makeup and jewelry. To me, makeup is the easiest way to accessorize your wardrobe. I often pretty my face before picking out my outfit. I guess that's the makeup artist and beauty stylist in me. I love to display all my treasures. Clothes are kept on a clothing rack for easy viewing, my makeup is displayed on vintage cake plates, and jewelry finds its home in a vintage bar cart. So there you have it, an eclectic closet filled by a self-proclaimed vintageholic, fashionista, and makeup maven."

Lauren Kaminksy
Curator of the Pawn Shop outside of Beauty & Essex
I spend a majority of my day looking at jewelry, therefore a great variety has passed through my hands. As an escape from work, I find it relaxing to come home to my own collection and take my time in picking out what I will wear on a specific day or night. I am very meticulous in this process since I am usually asked about the pieces I am wearing. Like any other collector, my mind is usually disproportionately occupied by a few items in my jewelry box at one time — those pieces have the "prime" real estate section in the jewelry box, along with lots of gold of course!

Samantha Frappied
Public Relations at Marchesa
"My spring shoes are slowly making their way towards the top now that the weather is getting warmer. Can't wait to get back into my favorite hot pink patent Repetto ballet flats. I lived in those Tabitha Simmons boots (top right) all winter long. Everyone played to my love of hats this past holiday — my boyfriend got me this Rag & Bone hat just a day before my sister and brother gave me the fox fur one. I love the scent of the Santa Maria Novella wax tablet that I keep hanging year round. I keep costume jewelry in my old Jonathan Adler ceramic that used to be a candle. That gorgeous crystal handbag is Marchesa. I am definitely spoiled as I get to borrow one whenever I have a fancy night out. My wardrobe is typically all black so I tend to play up my look with these standout pieces."

Sara Zucker
"My closet, while big, is a hot mess of eclecticism. Seasons are not separated as I tend to perpetually purchase pieces described as 'transitional' but in an attempt to keep the organization as purposeful as possible, I color-code. My mother has described this as a hobby of serial killers and spinsters. I will reluctantly admit to being the latter." -
Victoria Tarkhan
Account Executive at LER PR
"I love organizing, so it was simple to find a method that works for my small NYC closet. Everything is color-coordinated and I keep what I wear most often in an easily accessible spot. I wear a ton of black, so that is why you can see that section front and center!"

"This is the shoe shelf I created on my wall — I love shoes almost as much as I love a good home improvement project! I basically just took a bunch of nice towel racks and installed them like shelves. They're really easy to use — I can hang my shoes as long as they have heels. It's a nice way to save some floor space, plus I get to display my favorite shoes. I think they're pretty enough to be on a wall!"

Amanda Fayer
Associate Director of Content Marketing at NewsCred
"My closet is really the most organized area in my apartment. I generally organize items by category; so dresses, skirts, pants, and then color, style or occasion. My shoes are in clear boxes from the Container Store so I can see my options and organize them by season or frequency. I also like to keep some jewelry, scarves and accessories out in the open, so things don't get lost in the shuffle."
Amanda Kross
Senior Strategist at brightspot strategy
"For the past two years I have fallen into the annoying New Yorker Carrie Bradshaw stereotype by storing my shoes in my kitchen — New York apartments just aren't designed for shoe storage. I finally got my act together a few months ago and designed this closet which can hold upwards of 60 pairs of shoes and boots. This photo is a pretty good representation of my style when it comes to footwear — ranging anywhere from the extremely casual Converse and Keds to the formal Louis Vuitton and Proenza heel, to anything vintage in between."
Jaime Hollerbach
Senior Publicist at QVC"I have very little space and definitely too many shoes. Up top, I don't know when I started to do this, but I roll all my sweatshirts, hoodies, and fleeces and stack them like logs. Can't waste hangers or drawer space on hoodies! Also, messy as I am, I remain color coordinated in the closet. Bizarre."Denise Kalinowski
Head designer of FabKids
"I just re-did my closet — it's one of my favorite places in my new home. I love seeing my favorite pieces laid out in an open space. It makes it so much easier to mix and match different combinations and it makes getting dressed every morning so much fun, which are the same concepts we use at FabKids. We want to make dressing easy and fun for parents and their daughters. I always make sure to integrate lots of fun, vibrant patterns and colors. I also really enjoy my vanity, where I keep my perfume and old school pictures of my parents, a daily reminder of where I come from and to be grateful for the people who made me who I am today."
Eytan Gelley
"When shopping, I tend to be influenced by trends, friends and personal thoughts. More and more inspiration is also coming my way through social media. I'm a fan of certain brands and the quality they convey, but I like to mix and match between high and low end. I also love finding a vintage piece here and there."
