Ready to get crafty to upgrade your space? We have tons of ideas on how to make your home more personal — while showing off your devotion to all things fashion. These are ideas that hint at how to make boring, everyday stuff (hangers, dressers) a little more fun and also how to honor your favorite pieces that you don’t wear anymore, but aren’t quite ready to give up. For many of these projects, we encourage you to use things that you already own, but aren’t currently using, since many of the pieces below are largely for illustrative purposes. That said, time to get to work!

Dresser Decoupage
Here's what you can do with all those fashion mags laying around — decoupage the inside of your dresser drawers! Give yourself a little thrill each time you go to grab something to wear.

Shirt-Reuse Pillow
Think of this as a way to honor a shirt you love, but for whatever reason, don't wear anymore. If you have sewing know-how, hem the top to fit a blank pillow. If not, use safety pins to fake it. We think this would look rad with a beloved silk button-up or a soft plaid flannel.
Pillow Form, $4.89 at Amazon ; Halogen Print Cotton & Silk Shirt, $68 at Nordstrom
Framed Fabric
Like the pillow, this is a cool idea for a shirt (or whatever) that's seen better days, but you still cherish the fabric/memories it carries. Snip off a section to fit a frame, toss it in, then tack it up on the wall.

Upgraded Hangers
We love seeing hangers with faces — such personality! They're pricey to buy ready-made, so DIY. Grab some inexpensive hangers, tape and whatever character you want (we chose Cara ). Your closet has never looked so lively.

Washi Tape Fun
Do you know the never-ending possibilities of washi tape? Pick out on-trend patterns and try spelling out a (removable) motivational message — we're thinking "Make it work" — or faking furniture (like a headboard) with its outline.
PATCH Collage Orange Washi Tape, $4 at Etsy
Curtains DIY
We can't be certain where we first saw this tip, but we're pretty sure that it originated with Betsey Johnson . Hang up translucent slips over your windows in place of curtains. It's maybe the most feminine and fun way to decorate with clothing. We also like this idea with sun-blocking flannel shirts during the winter for a cozier vibe.
Necklace Garland
For jewels you aren't quite ready to throw away, rework them. Consider crafting a new piece by braiding three strands together to make something different or even attaching them all together (with the built-in clasps) to make a blingy garland, ready for draping anywhere.

Sweater Blanket
This project will take a little know-how. When you have sweaters that have seen better days, try sewing mismatched patches of them together to make a blanket. Experiment with colors, knit gauge, textures and more for something totally unique (and meaningful).
Vila Cable Knit Crew Neck Sweater, $72.36 at ASOS ; Boye #13 Yarn Needle, $1.69 at CreateForLess ; Patons Shetland Chunky Yarn, $4.49 at Joann ; ASOS Ultimate Chunky Sweater, $53.32 at ASOS
Canopy DIY
In honor of all the sheer shirts on the runway this season, a sheer DIY bed canopy. Just buy two pieces of long, thin, sheer fabric and fashion however you see fit — cascading down along the wall as a makeshift headboard, or out to protect your beauty sleep.
