There aren’t many things you can do for fun in New York City that don’t cost a pretty penny. But taking a tour of the city’s
epic holiday windows is totally free and truly awe-inspiring. Just
bundle up and head outside to burn those Thanksgiving calories. The major department stores have really outdone themselves this year with extraordinary holiday windows that make checking out brick-and-mortar stores IRL a real event.
And those aren’t the only windows you’ll want to take in. In a landmark move,
the Fifth Avenue Association has decked out the windows of abandoned buildings that used to house Polo Ralph Lauren, Henri Bendel, Massimo Dutti and Tommy Hilfiger. The displays are designed to reflect “the romance of the city in high winter, with scenes of ice skating in Central Park and skyscrapers made of gingerbread.”
Scroll through the slideshow above for all of the Big Apple’s festive window displays you don’t want to miss.
