Since launching his collection in 2006, he has proven season after season via streamlined designs that you can update classic silhouettes in an eco-conscious and modern way without sacrificing style or comfort.
There was a sexy easiness to Patrick’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection, which is a direct result of the designer’s in-depth knowledge when it comes to organic materials.
As one of the first designers to develop a direct relationship with organic farm collectives in Peru, Patrick continues to help innovate the use of botanical dyes, recycled fabrics and organic wool yarns, and resurrected traditional eco-conscious practices, including hand-weaving.
This approach makes the forward thinking designer’s collection detail-driven in quality rather than blatant flash, and though this season saw a number of loosely crafted looks that appeared simple, they all fit to a T with specific drape.
Neutral colors – ivory, beige, grey, cream – dominated the collection with cuffed shorts, cropped jackets, fitted as well as boyfriend-style blazers, and a lightweight, unlined knee-length trench standing-out as the most memorable.
Lace and a few prints also made appearances for those looking for a bit of a pop of color or texture.
