Christian Lacroix and the Tale of Sleeping Beauty

In a new series of books published by HarperCollins, classic fairy tale stories will be reinvented through the memoirs of fashion industry greats. The first installment, Christian Lacroix and the Tale of Sleeping Beauty (written by Camilla Morton and illustrated by the designer himself) hits shelves today.

The book reimagines the tale of Sleeping Beauty with French designer Lacroix as the prince, tracing his career from his early days in haute couture to the opening of his eponymous fashion house. In an appropriate twist, Lacroix’s beauty is not in need of a kiss, but a fashion makeover.

Morton, who has worked for titles such as Vogue and the New York Times, wrote the cult hit and U.K. bestseller How to Walk in High Heels. The next book in the series will feature the life, career and illustrations of Manolo Blahnik.
