Sundance Channel’s New Full Frontal Fashion Documentaries

This New York Fashion Weekthe Sundance Channel will once again be a go-to for a fashion fix. They’re following up last year’s awesome second season of “The Day Before” with brand new documentaries about three fashion legends – designer Hubert de Givenchy, model and style icon Kate Moss, and photographer David Bailey – as part of the network’s seven nights of style-oriented Full Frontal Fashion programming airing February 7-13.

Kate! The Making of an Icon (Tuesday, February 8th and 9:00pm), explores the unique, enduring star power of Kate Moss by highlighting a wide variety of people she’s worked with including photographers like Albert Watson, artist Chuck Close, and filmmaker Mike Figgis. The second documentary to premiere, David Bailey: Four Beats to the Bar and No Cheating (Wednesday, February 9th at 10:00pm), catches up with the photographer famed for creating the Swinging London of the 60s. Lastly, premiering on Thursday, February 10th at 10:00pm, Monsieur Hubert de Givenchy looks at one of fashion’s great masters, who stunned and scandalized Paris’ haute couture community in the late 1950s with his vision for modern dressing. Givenchy looks back on his rich career and discusses his fabled relationship with Audrey Hepburn.

In light of New York Fashion Week, the Sundance Channel is also debuting a new original series Love/Lust, which focuses on everyday items like high heels and the bikini and deconstructs them historically to find out what made them the icons they are today. The first episode will focus on the little black dress and includes commentary from Vera Wang, author and Barneys New York creative ambassador Simon Doonan, and fashion historian Valerie Steele, the Director and Chief Curator of the Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology .
