Guy Laroche Fall 2011 Runway Review

Most of the time, mathematics and the arts don’t see eye to eye, but in the Guy Laroche Fall 2011 collection, geometric shapes were abundant. From asymmetrical necklines to triangles and squares printed on sheath dresses, there were many angles to consider. Colors included black, nude, white, and beige with a pop of tangerine in shiny silks. A mix of matte and shine fabrics provided textural interest and a modern look.

Silhouettes were form fitted with a little room for ease and movement. A series of thick vertical striped prints were shown on slim fitted sweaters and dresses. The luxe aspect came into play with the heavy beaded slouchy dresses and blouses worn with furs. One particularly gorgeous piece was the ivory overcoat with jagged hemlines.

Overall, the collection was very wearable and will keep Guy Laroche customers looking fashion forward without overdoing any trends.
