Capes of different shapes, lengths and fabrications were the main focus of Rick Owens‘ Fall 2011 looks. Paired with oversized sweaters and turtlenecks, the long capes and little ponchos were shown in neutral colors of grey, black and beige.
Microfiber, leather, wool, and fur were used for a juxtaposition of matte with shine. Silhouettes were slightly futuristic with rounded shoulder puffer coats and slim, ankle length skirts. The look of the models was a lot softer than Owens’ typical styling choices; wearing soft makeup, a bright lipstick and hair pulled back with the neutral tones of the collection, the models looked angelic.
Still the fashion forward aspect of the designs were apparent in Paris and the collection was a definite crowd pleaser for Owens fans.
