Lady Gaga Leaks Born This Way Cover; Kate Middleton Chooses Wedding Dress Designer

This weekend, Lady Gaga tweeted the cover art to her upcoming album, Born This Way. Designed by Nick Knight, the pop star is presented as a creepy half-human half-motorcycle minotaur, her arms morphing into the bike’s fork. The cover is entirely black-and-white, except for the performer’s blood red lips. It’s probably safe to say that I’m not the only one that doesn’t get the appeal of a metal Gaga monster bike, but at least this is one version of Lady Gaga we haven’t seen before. [MTV]

According to Yvonne Yorke of HuffPo Style, designer Sophie Cranston of Libélula will design Kate Middleton’s wedding dress. Yorke writes that she’s known about the choice for four months, but has kept it under wraps according to the wishes of the Royal Family, who wanted to protect the designer from media scrutiny so she could focus on creating the gown.

Previous accounts have reported that Sarah Burton for McQueen, Alice Temperley, Bruce Oldfield, Jasper Conran, and Daniella Issa Helayel were in the running to design the gown for the big day. Yorke won’t reveal her insider sources but is confident that Middleton will arrive at Westminster Abbey in a Cranston creation. When reached for comment, Cranston’s mother dismissed the news: “I’m sure it’s not the case. Kate Middleton happened to wear one of Sophie’s coats earlier in the year then we saw that the bookmakers had put my daughter at 16/1 as the designer of the wedding dress.” St. James Palace won’t go on record to confirm the report.
