It may be hard to focus on covers other than the rumored Lindsay Lohan and Kate Moss September ones, but if you’re hitting the beach this weekend, don’t go empty handed. Here’s a look at the best and worst of the July 2011 glossies.
Herve Leger bandage dresses may be a big “yawn” at this point, but swimwear, that’s a whole other story. Zoe Saldana looks simply stunning in a navel-revealing Leger one-piece on the cover of C magazine’s summer issue. Also in swimwear (of sorts) is Katy Perry in a Hershey Kisses-inspired two piece on the cover of Rolling Stone’s summer double issue. She may have been better off cracking a cheeky smile and closing her mouth for the cover shot, but there’s no denying the humorous appeal of the look.
As much as it will pain most women to admit it, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looks lustily stunning on the cover of Maxim’s July issue, and though there’s nothing out of the ordinary about the Michael Kors look selected for Blake Lively‘s July Glamour cover, she looks age-appropriately adorable.
Christina Aguilera and Beyonce share covers for this month’s W. Aguilera appears nude covering herself with roses looking like a Scarlett Johansson doppelganger, while Beyonce works the sailor trend, popular in some of the 2012 Resort collections, in a Louis Vuitton and Givenchy outfit.
Elle Decor chose to put the focus on Courtney Cox‘s chic outdoor living room rather than the former Friends star’s face. Her co-star Jennifer Aniston opts for a buttoned-down look in an Ann Demeulemeester jacket and Gucci bottoms for the cover of this month’s Marie Claire.
Though she looks a tad uncomfortable, Emma Watson pulled off a rusty shade of orange and crimson lips, hues that don’t tend to look great against pale skin, on the cover of this month’s Vogue where she was photographed in a Prada dress. Perhaps she was uncomfortable as well because Emma Stone seems to be missing her neck on the cover of the July 2011 Elle, which is especially unfortunate because everything else about her look is flawless.
