Happy Canada Day! A Look Back at the Fashion Industry’s Most Influential Canadians

In celebration of Canada Day, which is apparently today, and my weekend jaunt to the great North American country, I’ve decided to look back and honor the fashion industry’s most influential Canadians.

The country, best known for hockey, South Park, and Maple Syrup, may have only spawned one fashion label that I genuinely admire, but at least DSquared designers—twins Dean and Dan Caten—well, at least they come as a pair. Besides, what the land lacks in fashion designers it makes up for in Supermodels.

From campaign cover girl Daria Werbowy and current ‘it’ girl Coco Rocha to iconic beauty and sometimes-actress Shalom Harlow and the legendary, the resplendent, the grandest Super of them all, Ms. Linda Evangelista, the Canadian mountains clearly double as a bona fide babe factory. No doubt the economy’s most valuable export.

What’s more? The Adonis-production doesn’t just stop with the ladies, as Halle Berry‘s baby daddy Gabriel Aubry and the hunky face of D&G, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, [insert every major menswear label here] Noah Mills generously demonstrate.

If the saying “it must be something in the water” is true, I’ll obviously be guzzling Canada’s finest water all weekend long.

Happy Canada Day, Eh!
