Are fruits the new florals? If they’re anything like the ones Rossella Jardini showed in her Spring 2012 Moschino Cheap & Chic collection I sure hope so. Literal takes on fresh produce have been a point of inspiration intermittently for a few seasons now (those vibrant citrus fruits on the Spring 2011 Stella McCartney runway), but Jardini delivered the inspiration like no other. From a strawberry-topped clutch and carrot-shaped buttons, to a jacket with an oversized straw-like bow closure and a bucket bag covered in fruits, this season’s collection was a veritable playful feast for the eyes.
