With its mix of patchwork motifs, rusty shades of yellow and green, and fringe, the Spring 2012 Vanessa Bruno collection worked a relaxed 70s bohemian vibe alongside structured 60s-style box dresses. While all of the references to the past held wearable appeal, it was the modern sportswear looks that stood out this season, specifically the white drawstring cropped jackets and loose, wrist-length tops. Bruno knows her audience and consistently manages to deliver what they want – easy, Parisian chic – but it’s nice to see that she’s also trying to push new ideas as she did with her recurring use of silver lame and patchwork.
"Great cover, quite impactful."
