Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri have gotten a lot of flack since taking over the creative reigns at Valentino, but after key celebrities wore their looks on the red carpet and a stellar lineup of handbags and shoes these last two seasons, things are looking up for the duo. Better yet, there were enough florals, lace, chiffon, ruffles, and bold red looks to, one hopes, make even Valentino himself happy. The one notable misstep in the collection was the puffed shoulder, square neckline black gown, which veered on the dowdy side among an otherwise feminine, but sexy (think nude chiffon and slinky long sleeve dresses) lineup.
"Great cover, quite impactful."
