Lacking the drama we were accustomed to under John Galliano’s leadership, the collection nevertheless had a slew of covetable, if repetitive, looks. Feminine but flirty, much of Fall 2012 recalled Dior’s New Look with cinched, often belted, waists and full skirts. Peplums, strappy shoes, and soft pastels added to an almost ballerina-like collection, while those in need of skirt suits will have plenty to choose from among the softly sophisticated options. Chunky embroidery and sculpted tops added visual appeal to a collection that overall felt refreshingly true to the original spirit of Dior himself.
