If you looked beyond the literal references, there were some fantastic pieces this season. Among the standouts were a black deep V-neck power jumpsuit and a khaki series that included a belted trench and pantsuit, all of which stood out as on trend and wearable. Less successful were the high-shine satin and metallic pieces, the denim separates, and the lingerie-inspired looks, which looked more like spot-on Halloween costumes than anything anyone would pay four figures to own.
