Hot on the heels (in both the literal and metaphorical sense) of my last post on Christian Louboutin’s retrospective exhibition and conference at the Toronto Design Exchange, as promised, I’m bringing you an insider peek at the glorious bounty of shoes on offer.
The exhibition itself is displayed in a Vegas-come-Cirque Du Soleil aesthetic to reveal the artistry behind the inspiration; that is, film, theatre, circus, architecture and Louboutin’s showgirl muses, the likes of which include Dita Von Teese. The displays are then seamlessly divided to showcase these central themes, with curated sections of Transparency, Travel, Architecture, Entertainment and Handcrafted, all flowing from the central “Showgirl” installation of a 17-metre long signature red sole.
Flip through the slideshow for a look at all the red soles and the exhibition that runs until September 15. It really is a bou-tiful sight to see!
