While Zanini’s debut collection may have seemed to lack cohesion, it was on point with the brand’s playful and surrealist-influenced heritage – no matter the disparity in colors, silhouettes and cuts. Better yet, the details weren’t only surface embellishments — though there were plenty and they were inside and out as was revealed by the models when they removed their blazers – but there were plenty of stunning fabric manipulations. Dramatic rushing, supersized sleeves and tiered skirts all made for unforgettable looks that would surely make a mark on the red carpet were they to be worn by the likes of Helena Bonham Carter or Cate Blanchett.
