Highlights from Fashion Week Australia, Day 4

Ixiah

Also venturing into the mind for inspiration was Sydney label Ixiah. Debuting at MBFWA, designer Krystel David titled her collection ‘Paracosm’ which is the phenomena of creating your own fully-fledged imaginary world. For Ixiah, this world is nouveau-tribal; taking inspiration from Maasai with extended, embellished collars and with rope braids in place of the traditional neck rings that some Burmese and South African ethnic groups wear. The Northern Lights inspired holographic beading and rainbow watercolour prints as feather and marabou trims, metallic beads and lashings of gold sequins completed the luxe look.
