The roster of Victoria’s Secret Angels is becoming increasingly shorter. Earlier this week, it was reported that Karlie Kloss would be leaving her post at the lingerie brand and now, it’s been confirmed that Doutzen Kroes is also hanging up her Victoria’s Secret Angel wings.
Victoria’s Secret Chief Marketing Officer Ed Razek came forward to confirm Doutzen’s departure. “After I posted the news about Karlie Kloss leaving VS I got a number of texts asking me why I hadn’t said anything about Doutzen leaving at the end of last year. Fair question,” he said via an Instagram post. “The simple answer is I should have. Doutzen had a lucrative opportunity in Europe and it would have conflicted with her VS obligations. So, at her agencies’ request, we released her from contract. There was no conflict. No animosity. None of the nonsense I’ve read on Instagram. She had a great business opportunity, and I wanted to be fair to someone I adore and respect. That’s all. I honestly believe Doutzen is one of the most stunningly beautiful people in the world. And I always will. I have told her that many times. Now you know.”
Rumor has it that so many Angels are exiting the brand because the contracts are no longer as lucrative. A source tells Page Six, “The money isn’t what it used to be. Older contracts like Alessandra Ambrosio were in the millions, now they’re like $100,000.”
It sounds like Victoria’s Secret has some new Angels to hire, now that it’s down two, and we have a few suggestions about who should fill the vacancies. Below, eight women who we think are worthy of a VS Angel contract.

We already know Robyn looks amazing in a swimsuit, and hiring a woman that the modeling world considers to be plus-sized would make a huge statement.

Joan is one of the world's top supermodels. She's a recognizable face and has done work with the lingerie brand before. Plus, VS filmed its forthcoming swim special on her home island of Puerto Rico, so maybe the brand could show her a little more love by giving her an Angel contract.

Sui has walked the Victoria's Secret runway before and she's definitely got the look we associate with the brand.

Gigi is a buzzy up-and-comer whose body and face were made for lingerie and swimwear. She's definitely a girl in demand and VS would be wise to capitalize on that.

You can definitely count Jourdan among the new crop of supers. She's already one of the world's highest paid models and now that her BFF Karlie is out, perhaps it's time for Ms. Dunn to further solidify her grasp on the modeling game with a VS Angel contract.

Jasmine has done a lot of work for VS and with good reason. Just look at her — she's got the kind of impossible beauty and gazelle-like body that Angels are made of. Honestly, we're not sure why she hasn't been made an Angel yet.

There is something so calming and dreamy about Liu's classic beauty. We think she'd be a great addition to the Angel roster. Plus, we're suckers for dimples, and Ms. Wen definitely has one adorable pair!
