In one week’s time, Edward Enninful will officially take the reins at British Vogue. (His start date is August 1.) In the meantime, he’s doing a bang-up job bringing what feels like the entirety of the British fashion industry on staff. (No complaints here.) Earlier this month, he named his friends Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Steve McQueen contributing editors and appointed fellow Vogue alum Grace Coddington a contributor.
Today, the fashion bible announced another host of big-name hires. Legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath will join Enninful’s side as British Vogue’s beauty editor-at-large. Her team of contributors will include fellow celebrity beautifiers Guido Palau, Sam McKnight, Charlotte Tilbury and Val Garland. Meanwhile, model, activist and street style star Adwoa Aboah will join as contributing editor.
“All inspirational and highly regarded in their individual fields, I’m really excited to see my vision for the British Vogue team come to fruition,” said Enninful of his crew. “I’m very much looking forward to working with everyone on forthcoming issues.”
Other notable appointments include Johan Svensson, former design director for W and art director of Vogue Paris, who will serve as creative director. Enninful also poached W photography director Caroline Wolff, who will act as the magazine’s editor-at-large.
