After a full month of street style stalking , you probably think you’ve got a handle on which brands proved popular. After all, those neon Prada pieces were like everywhere. But according to global fashion search platform Lyst, the Italian label isn’t the most popular brand out there.
The company has compiled its quarterly The Lyst Index to rank the hottest brands and products everyone has been clamoring for. Based on the online shopping behavior of more than 5 million shoppers a month, the formula takes into account global Lyst and Google search data, along with conversion rates and sales, brand and product social media mentions and engagement statistics over the course of three months.
Basically, it shows which brands and products ruled Summer 2018. And you just might be surprised by who came out on top. In an interesting crossover, the Fashion Awards-nominated Off-White also managed to put out two of the most popular items: an industrial logo belt and its trademark striped sleeve jean jacket. While other top fashion brands also made the list, we were surprised to see a hippie staple land in the top five. Check out which labels and products made waves this summer in the slideshow above.

Top 10 Fashion Brands
It's official: Virgil Abloh and Off-White ruled Summer 2018. At least according to Lyst's just-released quarterly report on the most popular brands out there. Read on for the full list of top 10 brands, followed by the 10 most popular products.

1. Off-White
With those extra long logo belts as street style bait, we probably should’ve seen this one coming. Virgil Abloh’s brand permeated all aspects of life this summer, from designing Serena Williams’ tutu-laden US Open outfits to collaborating with IKEA on a rug pop-up to teaming with retailers like SSENSE, Selfridges and TheDoubleF. While the label’s shows don’t really receive much love on our forums , clearly the rest of the world is hooked.

2. Gucci
Since Alessandro Michele loves to layer to the nth degree, it’s not surprising that Gucci came in second — if you flood the market with merch, it’ll definitely sell. The brand pushed hard for its Sylvie bag and cruise collection and the fact that the 80s are trending has only helped rake in sales. And it’s not just the current collections everyone is after: searches for Tom Ford Gucci items on resale sites are also up.

3. Balenciaga
We’re not sure how many of those gigantic layered coats we’ll actually be seeing this winter, but Demna Gvasalia’s OTT rebranding of Balenciaga has obviously succeeded. Its über popular Triple S Volt sneaker helped drive the grandpa sneaker trend . And it introduced a new Track shoe exclusive to Selfridges plus updated its Speed sneaker.

4. Nike
As if Nike wasn’t a big enough brand, a collab with Virgil Abloh, the rise of athleisure and its sponsorship of both soccer teams in this year’s World Cup final brought even more attention to the athletic powerhouse. But it was probably picking Colin Kaepernick for its latest ad campaign that really got social media’s attention.

5. Prada
See, we knew the influx of those retina-bursting sheer neon pieces from Prada’s Fall 2018 collection would have an impact. The brand was also buoyed by its relaunch of the Linea Rossa line.

6. Versace
While Michael Kors’ $2.1 billion investment made news recently , it’s Versace's die-hard celeb following that keeps it in the limelight. Think Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Gigi Hadid and Blake Lively. And its Fall 2018 offering featured colorfully patterned pieces that found their way into tons of editorials.

7. Yeezy
Perhaps driven a bit by Kanye West’s erratic behavior, Yeezy made this list mainly due to its sought-after kicks. The Yeezy Butter 350 sneakers helped drive sales this quarter.

8. Vetements
Thanks to a partnership with Reebok that offered up everything from sock pumps to sneakers with actual spikes, Vetements has stayed relevant. Collabs with Alpha Industries and SWEAR kept the momentum going.

9. Fendi
Leading the logomania craze, Fendi’s unique moniker was one of the most coveted designs, appearing on everything from bags to tees to furry sweaters. It also celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Peekaboo bag, released the must-have Fancy sneaker and teased the return of its infamous baguette bag at its Spring 2019 show.

Pierpaolo Piccioli’s solo tenure at Valentino is off to a good start. From a popular haute couture collection to standout red carpet moments courtesy of Lady Gaga and Tracee Ellis Ross , Valentino shows no sign of slowing down. Plus, the brand’s accessories are trending in the U.S.
