Blake Lively and Lea Michele Flock to Feathers

The latest in animal-inspired fashion is the feathered skirt. Blake Lively, Katy Perry, Lea Michele and more celebrities have flocked to the lush look of a full, feathered skirt. Extremely flattering, the feathered skirt redefines red carpet fashion. Forget the boring award show looks stars recycle every few years (think empire waist gowns), the feathered skirt is a fun way for young Hollywood to declare that they’ve arrived … in serious style.

Like many of us, Blake Lively’s fashion obsession is a full-time job. The former model knows how to dress for her tall frame and rubs elbows with fashion elite (ahem, Karl Lagerfeld!) on a regular basis. Never one to shy away from experimenting with new looks, Lively turned heads at the New York premiere of Where the Wild Things Are in a mini-corseted Marchesa dress with a full black feathered skirt (right).

Glee actress Lea Michele has a lot to smile about. In the past year, she’s managed to take the leap from Broadway to television and is adored by legions of real-life “gleeks”. The actress and singer made plenty of best dressed lists after she wore a one-shouldered navy Romona Keveza dress with skirt covered in feathers to last year’s Grammy awards (above, right). She accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Brian Atwood shoes to make sure she stood out on the red carpet.

Beyonce may be one of the greatest performers the world has ever seen, but her sister, Solange Knowles, inherited all the style. Knowles took to the red carpet at the re-launch of MANGO’s flagship store in New York City in a little black dress with feather details (above, left). Subtle but chic, Knowles’ feathered look perfectly paired sassy and sexy.

Ever since The O.C. was cancelled, Mischa Barton has lingered in the back of our mind. The model-turned-actress has graduated from her once bohemian style and dared to be different when she wore a green Monique Lhuillier cocktail dress (above, right). Glittering at the bust and full at the bottom, this funky green frock takes the feather trend to a whole new level.
