Celebrity Style Secret: Nude Heels

If there’s one style secret every woman can steal from Hollywood, it’s the slimming power of nude heels. Some actresses have mile-long gams, but for those who don’t, looking long and lean on the red carpet takes some styling tricks. Regardless of your body type, a skin-toned high heel paired with a bare leg (or flesh-toned hosiery) elongates the body, creating an uninterrupted line from your waist to the floor. Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, Taylor Swift, and other celebrities turn to a pair of nude pumps when it comes time to play the role of statuesque beauty.

At 5’10” Blake Lively doesn’t need any help looking leggy. The blonde bombshell paired simple nude heels with a strapless fuchsia Michael Kors dress for a chic but simple look at the 2009 Council of Fashion Designers of America awards. Twilight star Kristen Stewart knows what works for her pale complexion. At the French premiere of New Moon, Stewart stepped into a sophisticated look with the help of nude peep-toe pumps.

Taylor Swift made the grade in nude pumps at the Los Angeles premiere of Easy A. The singer’s Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps with bows, were the perfect accessory for her emerald green satin Miu Miu dress. Megan Fox is already pretty sultry, but her sky-high nude heels had even more tongues wagging. At only 5’6”, Fox looks like a runway model as she towers across the red carpet.

Dakota Fanning has grown up in front of the cameras, so it’s no surprise that the pint-sized actress knows what works on the red carpet. When the actress wore a pale yellow dress to the 2009 Critic’s Choice Awards, the then 14 year-old kept it simple in the shoe department with a conservative and flattering kitten heel. Ciara stunned critics when she brought high fashion to the red carpet at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in a Givenchy feather and lace dress. The singer looked elegant in her neutral heels.
