Dita Von Teese’s Cardigan Collaboration

As a much-admired burlesque performer, Dita Von Teese wears fantastic stage costumes for her risque routines. Looking extravagant is a job requirement when your performance involves a larger-than-life martini glass. Her pin-up persona has attracted many fans, including celebs who flock to see her shows. Dressing like Dita has just gotten a bit easier thanks to her current collaboration with Wheels & Dollbaby

The burlesque beauty teamed up with the brand to fashion a limited edition sweater. Dubbed the Dita Rose Embroidered Cardi, it features a pleated contrast satin trim, velvet buttons, and a coordinating velvet neck tie. The throwback knit comes in a French Armoire-illustrated box with an image of the sultry star wearing the cardigan gracing the underside of the package. There are four color combinations to choose from, and the cardi, which is casual only by Dita standards, is available through Wheels & Dollbaby as well as Dita.net for $190. Check her out sporting the cardi while doing a little grocery shopping.

Dita does go the casual route when not on stage or walking a red carpet, but her off-the-clock style is still more refined than most. The puffy elbow-length sleeves on this red trench, combined with the oversized shades and black satchel, had the star looking very uptown as she spent a Spring day with her mother touring Manhattan back in 2008. Even Dita’s festival gear seems sophisticated and somewhat old-school. A red and white graphic print dress for the third day of the 2009 Coachella Music Festival was offset with an overly ruffled bottom and structured neutral wedges.

While hitting some Los Angeles shopping destinations in May 2009, Dita wore a slightly dowdy, long baby blue dress with crochet detail at the collar and hem. Back at Coachella for Day 1 last April, her funky patterned wrap dress hit a playful note, especially combined with a mock straw hat shoulder bag.

Dita’s new cardigans definitely offer up a retro vibe, but the timeless knit still has a place in any modern wardrobe.
